Health Screening

People take good health for granted, only visiting their doctor when they are ill. GP consultations often leave little time to identify potential future health problems or to encourage healthy living. Health screening provides a way of looking for clues of possible future illness and to make appropriate changes at an early stage.

Detailed consultation

Our health screening programme will provide an in-depth and unhurried consultation by a trained nurse and a doctor with experience in preventive health care, together with a comprehensive range of tests which allow you to monitor your state of health at regular intervals.

What is involved?

After you have submitted your health and lifestyle questionnaires, our nurses perform a number of screening tests. You will then have an unhurried consultation and physical examination by one of our experienced doctors. A few days later you will receive a confidential, comprehensive, personalised report summarising our findings and recommendations. You can opt for a copy to be sent to your GP.

1. Heart Health Check

We all know that prevention is better than cure. Small changes to your lifestyle you can lower your chances of developing heart disease.
If you have had heart problems then making these change are even more important to help your heart to stay healthy and lower your chances of further problems.
Learn more about blood pressure, cholesterol and how reducing your weight and quitting smoking could save your life.

Our Heart Health Check includes:

• Health screen starting with a lifestyle questionnaire including diet and exercise
• Nurse led checks of weight, Blood Pressure, Pulse rate and rhythm, urine check, cholesterol and cardiac risk score
• Tailored health information including cardiac risk score and advice on lifestyle, diet and exercise including a personalised health report
• Brief interventions for smoking or excess alcohol consumption
• Advice about onward referrals when appropriate

The cost of this is £65 per person

2. Express Health Check

Prevention is better than cure. This applies to our heart as well as other health condition. Our Express Health Check is an affordable, but focused health check to help you identify early signs of health problems and make changes to prevent problems in the future.

Express Health Check includes:

• Lifestyle, diet, exercise questionnaire
• Brief health questionnaire
• Height, weight, abdominal circumference and body mass index
• Blood tests glucose test, cholesterol profile, prostate test (PSA) for men over 45
• Urine test
• Faecal blood test
• Coronary risk score calculation
• A personalised health report and action plan

The cost for Express Health Check is £130.

3. Total Health Check

For a detailed assessment of your health

Total Health Check includes:

• Detailed lifestyle, diet, exercise questionnaire
• Detailed health questionnaire
• Height, weight, abdominal circumference and body mass index
• Physical examination with our doctor
• Breast examination for women
• Testicular examination for men
